CHARACTER MODELLING + RIGGING

I enjoy modelling so I took up the part of character and environment modelling for this animation. Carman did the concept art and character profile, and I created the assets in Maya.

Determined to challenge and improve myself, I researched and built the character rig from scratch rather than using a ready-made rig. I came across multiple issues in the process, but I'm proud of the outcome in the end. There are certainly many areas left for improvement, but for the extent of this project, it was sufficient enough. I am particularly proud of the face rig since I had always ran into trouble with the face rig in past years.
After building the character rig, I got a much better understanding in rigging in general, and I was able to adopt that knowledge to creating a simple rig for other props and objects in the animation.
